Founded in 2017 by Nancy Evans, an American long based in Brussels, Lina's Project was created in memory of Nancy's daughter Lina, who passed away suddenly at just 30 years old. This year marks the tenth anniversary of this heartfelt charity, which sponsors summer activities for children living in extreme poverty in Brussels.
The project is funded solely through donations and thanks to the generosity of so many supporters, the project continues to go from strength to strength — growing from 18 children in its first year to 57 last summer. Activities chosen by the children themselves have included city trips, sports, cultural and scientific outings, and visits to amusement and adventure parks. For older children, the project has also funded summer camps in the Ardennes and on the Belgian Coast, as well as trips to France and Spain — experiences that broaden horizons and build confidence and self-esteem.
This year, with your support, they hope to reach even more children — and every donation makes a difference!
